Day 174: You Will Be Paid In Full

From mydiabeticheart.com

Job 14:14 (KJV) If a man die, shall he live again?
all the days of my appointed time will I wait,
till my change come.

Sequel to our discussion started in our post You Will Be Paid For Waiting, where we mentioned that God is going to pay you for all the hours you spent waiting provided you wait steadfastly and haven’t quitted before your desired change comes:

The second lesson to be learned from the Parable of Labourers in the vineyard is that, not only will you be paid for waiting,  you will also be paid In Full because in the Lord’s scheme of things, The Wait Is Worth The Hire!

You will be paid in full

This became very obvious when the foreman called for the labourers to be paid, and those who had seemed so unfortunate as to have been hired at the eleventh hour were paid exactly the same stipend due those who were hired earlier – even those who started working at the wee hours.

And when those hired about the eleventh hour came, each of them received a denarius. Now when those hired first came, they thought they would receive more, but each of them also received a denarius. Matthew 20:9-10(ESV)

Those who were hired earlier and had seemingly worked more hoped to get more than the agreed wage. Or better put,  they expected the late joiners to be paid less.

And on receiving it they grumbled at the master of the house, saying, ‘These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.’
Matthew 20:11-12 (ESV)

However,  the message is so clear: in the Lord’s scheme of things, waiting patiently and steadfastly to be hired is as much work, and therefore is worth as much pay. The wait is worth the hire!

This reminds one of the story of Sally who trekked several miles to the seashore and back just to pick ordinary seashells as gifts for a favourite teacher on her birthday.  When asked why she considered walking tens of miles to pick just sea shells a worthy venture ,  she replied,  “The rigours journey is part of the gift!”

That explains it all.

To the Lord, the end result is as important as the process!

The wait is worth the hire!

Therefore each time you experience a delay at achieving your desired outcome in life and the wait seems endless; do not be discouraged, but stay available, and keep waiting patiently and steadfastly.

For to the Lord, the wait is worth the hire. What’s more: you will be paid in full, and in the day of reckoning, your results wouldn’t be lesser in value than of those who had made it earlier.

Prayer:

Lord,  I’m so thrilled to know that not only I will be paid for waiting patiently when my desired opportunities seem late in coming, but I will also be fully paid, when my turn finally comes…

Please help me dear Lord to remain available, fit and ready for Your use. Above all, on that day when my much desired change comes knocking,  may I still be found waiting.  Amen!
