Day 158:…The Lord’s Songs In Babylon

Ps.137:1-4 (KJV) By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.We hanged our harps upon the willows …For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song… saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.How shall we sing the LORD’S song in a strange land?

Sing THE LORD’S SONG in strange lands
Sing of His Love In the midst of hatred
Speak of His Kindness at the face of cruelty
Talk of His Goodness in the seat of wickedness

Sing of His Peace in times of trouble
Speak Peace to every raging storm
Like when He commanded and the seas obeyed His voice
When our LORD arose and the storm sat down!

Sing of His Providence in times of famine
Sing of Abundance in times of scarcity
Talk of His Healing in times of sickness
Speak of His Strength in times of weakness

Sing a song of victory when you feel defeated
Shout triumphantly to the God of all the earth!
Speak Light at the wake of darkness
Sing of His Life at the face of death

Sing of His mercies when you have failed and fallen
A broken and contrite heart will He not despise
The steadfast love of our God never ceases
Day unto day show forth His mercies…

For The Lord will not always chide
Slow to anger… Rich in mercies
His kindness extends to thousands of generations…
Ever faithful…ever sure!

Make a joyfully to the Lord all ye lands!
Shout and make His praises glorious
Sing with gladness to Him wherever you are
Sing His high praises forever more! (*1)

Prayer:

Lord, when the realities of life go contrary to Your promises, help me to insist and hold on to Your promises.

Teach my heart and mouth to not complain or just look on but to rather count You faithful who has promised by singing of Your great and precious promises through it all. Amen.
